Headed down to New York for Wierd on Wednesday. Bettina Köster (ex-Malaria!) played and it was interesting, to say the least. After a few too many tequila shots, I dragged Cara and Conor over to Motor City for extra late night partying. Luckily, the three of us had nothing to do Thursday so we wandered around consuming iced coffee and shopping — some of my favorite things to do in Brooklyn. I spent the most money at Academy, which was great because the last few times I’ve been there I didn’t really find anything worth buying. This time around I grabbed a bunch of Minimal Wave reissues (Veronica has the best taste) and some new releases from Captured Tracks — the best one of which is definitely the MINKS 7″.

MINKS – Ophelia

It’s back to the grind of work and whatnot, but just for a short time — Cara and I are taking yet another trip to the west coast in two weeks. LA and San Francisco. Much clothing and record shopping awaits us. I’ve been to both cities a few times, but I would still love to know of any must-see shops, places, sights, cafes, bars, etc.
